Aw, Look At You Gorgeous!
Performance
Mirroring is a nonverbal technique where a person copies the body language, vocal qualities, or attitude of another. This performance intends to connect people through the materiality of exchanging a scarf, and the gaze, observation, and repetition as a mutual language. After exchanging your scarf with the artist, you’re invited to sit in front of her by a dressing table with no mirror, and copy or be copied throughout the self-adornment process with the textile. How can we trust the unknown and share subjective notions of identity, culture, time, and appreciation for the other through the self?
